Baer Air Celebrates the Completion of New Facility

Baer Air, Brevard County’s largest based air carrier, celebrated commencement of construction on their new corporate headquarters this morning with a ground breaking ceremony at the site, 150 Apollo Boulevard, Melbourne, Florida.
Bill Baer, owner of the air carrier, introduced Ms Shannon Meyer, president of the Melbourne, Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce, who opened her comments by expressing her optimism for continued business development as displayed by this ground breaking ceremony and thanked Baer Air for its positive contributions in creating quality jobs here in Melbourne. Ms Meyer then introduced Mr. Richard Cloutier, Melbourne Airport’s Director of Operations, representing the Melbourne Airport while Airport Executive Director Richard Ennis is traveling on behalf of the airport. Mr. Cloutier congratulated Baer Air on maintaining a steady course throughout their growth these past 5 years and keeping their commitment since initially expanding to Melbourne in 2006.
Mr. Baer opened his comments by acknowledging the role the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Transportation (DOT), United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Melbourne Airport Authority and the City of Melbourne all serve as stewards ensuring a safe, viable, sustainable air carrier as well as growth that contributes positively to our community. He then thanked the well-attended gathering, with members from the Melbourne, Palm Bay Chamber, as well as friends, well-wishers, and customers who have supported and believed in Baer Air these past five years.
The ceremony concluded with a photo opportunity as select individuals were introduced and came forward to be handed a gold shovel and “break ground”. Mr. Arthur Moore, a businessman and member of the Baer Air Board of Directors, Mr. Cloutier from the Melbourne Airport Authority, Ms Shannon Meyer from the Melbourne, Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce, Ms Sherry Keiter, Baer Air’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Ms Carla Baer, Baer Air’s Operations Manager, and Mr. Tom Davis from Tom Davis Construction, the design/builder of the 28,500 square foot facility, all participated in the ceremonial dig. Baer Air’s pilots and flight operations support staff also participated in the ceremonial dig and Mr. Baer is grateful for their professionalism and dedication to the company’s growth and safety.
Baer Air anticipates relocating to the new facility from its current leased buildings in December of this year.
